Nina Ansaroff is the girlfriend of MMA fighter a.k.a “The Lioness” Amanda Nunes. The couple are in for an exciting weekend as Nina’s beau faces Miesha Tate at UFC 200, to be held in Las Vegas on July 9.

The Lioness was born in Salvador, Bahia Brazil on May 30, 1988. Nunes who currently fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship is #4 in official UFC women’s bantamweight rankings since 2015.

The story goes that young Amanda Nunes was very energetic as a child so her mother put her in karate at 7 years old. Then she started boxing and training jiu-jitsu as a teenager. She made her pro MMA debut at 19.

Nunes holds a number of titles including Black belt in jiu-jitsu, brown belt in judo. Naga World Champ in her weight and Absolute, Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship Gold, Mundials Jiu-Jitsu Gold, Brazilian State Jiu-Jitsu Champion.

Before coming to the US to pursue her dream and train full time, she attended school in Brazil to study Physical Education. Out of her 16 bouts she has won 12, Amanda has ended all her fights by KO or submission, three of them in the first 30 seconds. The pro since 2008 got her nickname because it happens to be “The logo from my first gym was two lions. I was the only female fighter at the gym, so my old coach started to call me “Leoa” for my aggressive style and it stuck.”

The 28-year-old Brazilian has won five of her six fights since crossing over from the Invicta FC to the UFC. More impressively, she has finished four of those wins via first-round stoppage.

There’s no doubt Amanda Nunes will make for an interesting UFC 200 title challenger and who will be up cheering for her? That would be lovely girlfriend, Nina.

The couple seem to get along just great, they both are active on social media and often post pictures of them hanging out or hitting the gym hard –which seems to be an important part of their life together. That would be because Nina Ansaroff happens to be a fellow fighter. The Florida native is currently competing in the Women’s Strawweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Nina “The Strina” Ansaroff was born in Weston, FL on December 3, 1985. The pro, since 2010, began in taekwondo when she was six, then stopped for a while. She became interested in MMA in 2008.

Nina Ansaroff studied Psychology after earning her Associates in science, she had to stop due to a motorcycle accident. Due to the bad accident she put on weight and began her MMA training in order to loose weight gained.

Before she became a fighter she worked in a bank and was also a part time nanny. Nina who has won five of her last six, holds a 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo. Purple belt in BJJ.

The happy couple currently live together in Coconut Creek, Florida.
